I have a 52 H I had a similar problem. Sometimes the fuel line can be partially clogged. The fuel runs our and the tractor dies. Then by the time you check the carb the fuel has had enough time to fuel the carb so it runs out and starts. Remove the gas line from the carb and see how good a stream of gas you are getting.
