Use the same oil you use in the crankcase. Fill until oil comes out the petcock on the side of the pump. These are prone to leak diesel into the oil sump of the pump, so check often by draining a little out the level petcock to see if the oil is thinned by diesel. The instructions for changing the oil in the pump are in the lubrication section of the owners manual. Page 17 in the one I have which is dated 12/7/49.
