Around my house the big one to watch out for is Hydrogen Sulfide, a particularly noxious gas. Makes the nose burn, eyes water, scares small critters like cats and dogs off the couch and causes damage to wallpaper glue and affects paint adhesion, not to mention tarnishing silver and causes the women in the house to go on an uncontrollable rant about opening windows and sometimes makes men laugh hysterically and stand on one leg. I have also noticed its presence occasinally in the frozen foods section at the grocery store. It always seems to be particularly bad around Memorial Day after the free bean supper here in town. Seems no where in town is safe from that hideous menacing gas at that time. Town officials usually have "no comment" as to its source.
