I'd for dang sure ensure it's a SMTA before giving that kinda money. I'd check the SN on the plate. If the plate is gone I'd be suspect. Check the casting codes on the belly of the machine. I'm not sure what the codes are off the top of my head but there are casting differences between the later 400's/450's and the SMTA's. Make sure you aren't buying a homemade SMTA. I've been hearing about some of them popping up out there. It might be exactly like you say but you better be sure it is before giving $2k for a machine that's only worth a couple hundred if it turns out to be a phony.
