They were actually a "working tractor" when new n worked fine at Pos ground for 50 years so I dont see any reason to change any of that myself.......... Exceptions are for Neg ground alternators but thats sure not original of course and any decent C ought to start n run fine at 6 volts anyway PLUS you will still be able to buy the more original and CORRECT parts (like say a Voltage Regulator etc) if you keep her at the original configuration. If you do change polarity and its a coil/distributor ignition instead of a magneto, in addition to ammeter lead swap (and re polarize the genny) the coil leads need swapped also.
