Sam: I'm going to argue with myself. Too new for an H or M 2 way plow, any I've seen had PO part numbers. The 189 Super A plow left beam part number is 512503 R1. The 1-F-11 one point fast hitch two way plow has a left beam part number 521497 R1. This leads me to believe your plow, having a part number 515801 R1 in between the two, falls somewhere in the 1950s.
There are a few items I don't have in my two books covering 65 plows. I don't have anything on a C or SC two way plow. H - M mounted two way plows ended production in late 1940s. I doubt if IH sold many after the war. The reason being, the No. 39 two way trailer plow comenced production in 1939, that probably ended the mounted plow production for H and M. Close as I can come with these books.
