I damaged the threads on the front steering post trying to get the drive gear loose.
I'd like to clean up the threads with a thread cutter. Does anyone know the size of the threads? Can you rent a set of thread cutters or do you need to go to a shop to have the work done? I haven't been able to come up with anything so far. (Also sort of embarrased to ask around)
Right now I've got the nut forced on but it's not really griping very well. I put a pin through the shaft and cups in the top of the nut. But now wonder if maybe I shouldn't fix it right.
