You don't have to remove the tranny cover to replace the inner seal. You can remove the pto and get to everything that way. There are two long, fine threaded bolts that hold the retaining plate for the bull gear. With the pto cover off you can reach in and with a 9/16" wrench remove the bolts. I neat trick is to leave the back wheel on the axle and once you have the bolts loosened you can spin the back wheel and with the wrench on the bolts spin the bolts right out. I used a cherry picker and removed the axle with the wheel still on the axle. I was replacing the gasket between the axle housing and the rear end so everything came out together. Then you can get to the inner bearing and seal.
