Sounds like you got a bad set of decals as they should fir the hood easy. Your print is ok as thats the way the early ones were. Does your have the spring loaded sw to ground the mag? Is the overflow tube running down the center of the radiator. Does yours have the 1/4 turn screws for the sheetmetal. Real early ones had serial# fastened to the pedal guards. Also had bottom fastener for the grill down underneath and not below the crank opening. Does your have the three spoke bakelite steering wheel. What are the casting codes on the tranny and engine?
