I have a 454 gas burner. The thing started first crack and ran smooth, but if you put anymore load on it than driving across the yard it would die. A friend and I put it on a dyno and when we tried to load it it would start to die unless you choked it back to life. I took the carb off and took it apart but couldn't find anything obviously wrong with it. So I took it to the local CASEIH dealer who had a guy who rebuilds them. A week later I got it bakc and they told me that it had been missing a jet, and it had been missing a long time but luckily they found one. He said it's kind of hard to tell what size to use but the one they put in should work. I took it home and installed it on the tractor. It wouldn't start unless I choke it so much that there was gas dripping on the ground. I finally got it started and running. After gettting it warmed up and messing around with the idle screw I could get it to run without having it choked, but it smoked a lot and back fired quite a bit. My question is where do I go from here?
