You don't have the three point lever pushed all the way forward do you? If you do this will dump all the hydraulic pressure to the remotes. If you look on the quadrant there is a notch about an inch from all the way ahead. To fully lower the three point the lever should be moved forward to this notch not all the way forward. As for the power steering there could be a stuck valve in the mcv or the steering valve that sits above the mcv on the clutch housing.
