Hi Brad, the hydraulic brakes are the weakest point in the 84 series tractors. The the hydraulic brake circuit is fed by the return hydraulic oil from the oil cooler and dead ends in the brake pistons by rear axles. Problems can be caused by leaking "O" rings on the brake cylinders, cracks in the brake lines or air bubbles in the hydraulic oil. Make sure to use only IH Hytran or equivalent hydraulic oil and you can over fill the transmission with 5 gals of Hytran to be sure when using a loader or remotes not to suck air into the hydraulics. You can check for leaky "O" rings or cracked hydraulic lines by bleeding the brakes and then let the tractor sit for a day or two and before starting it, depress each brake pedal one at a time, if one or both go to the bottom then there is either a leaky line or "O" ring.

The need for fabricating becomes obvious when you go to buy any of these
