Well, the knock seems to be associated with something that is at a lower RPM than the engine. I timed it this morning and counted 42 knocks over 15 seconds at an engine RPM of 650. This would put the knock in the PTO range. Does anyone know if I can remove the hydro pump and run the engine to see if the pump is the source of the noise? If it is the PTO it sounds like it is in the front of the transmission so I"m guessing the front bearing for the PTO shaft. Any thoughts?
