Schedule 40 is good for 600psi CWP. Schedule 80 is good for I think 1000 CWP. Neither are rated for hydraulic service, but my Farmall has schedule 40 fittings all over it. I only change them out for hydraulic when I replace a line, not due to failure, but for appearance. 45 years, never ruptured a fitting.
Be safe if possible, use the correct parts if available and if not, do not reuse old Schedule 40 fittings, replace with new. Use schedule 80 if available, it is twice as thick and is steam rated.
