Not only are the drawbars different thicknesses, they're different lengths too, right? Unless you use an H drawbar on an H, the PTO will chatter whenever you make a turn with a PTO implement.
I don't know about pulling directly from the U-shaped drawbar support... I've read in several places that these Saginaw 3 point hitches aren't good for heavy tillage because they place stresses on the axle housings that they're not designed to take, like twisting forces. The U-shaped drawbar support looks like it would put the same kind of twisting forces on the axle.
