Make sure the carburetor adjustment screws and float level are correctly set. Make sure the mag/distributor is correctly timed. You might have a lot of carbon in the engine, spray some fogging oil or something like that in the cylinders. Also make sure you are using the correct plugs and the gap is correctly set. Make sure all the valves are free and not stuck or sticking.
