There are questions about the rims almost every day. Use what you want, there is no "right" color as the original galvanized rims were dull. Go to a farm store and look at some new chain link fencing, or perhaps a galvanized bucket or something. That is pretty close to the color of the original rims. Galvanizing may have changed since the rims were new??, and probably differs from one manufacturer to another -- but the new galvanizing will still be closer than any paint you can buy.
