Greg: Don't know, I've never bought anything but woodruff keys for the vertical shaft. I understand some of the early SA and A have a square tapered ahaft where the steering control arm fits on and those can usually be built up with shim stock. My tractors all have the round shaft with a Woodruff keys both for the control arm and the half gear. My vertical shaft is tapered and round where the steering control arm fits on. Over the years I've had to rebuild using oversized Woodruff keys and grind them until I got a tight fit. I've never had to but anything but gaskets and Woodruff keys
I've been fortunate that the bearings on the steering shaft have always been good.
