The M 248ci. has to be bored if you want to run the sleeves for the 4.125" pistons. Some just pull the sleeves out, hone the block and run the pistons that way. I have a 1952 Super M with 4.125" 281ci. pistons in it.Pretty early tractor (7022J). It"s not running anymore but it there. I did pull the pistons out, they have 1" pins instead of the larger M pins. They simply put the thicker pin bushings in the rod. The sleeves look to be around .060 thick. So you"re not going to have any problems. Good Luck, Charles
