Mike - I'm with you! Recommend setting up the tractor up for 12 volt NEGATIVE ground. Then replace the magneto with an IHC distributor and coil. Finally install a 12 volt negative ground electronic ignition kit in the distributor.
When you are done your Super A will be set up like virtually every modern automobile and truck. This drastically reduces the chances for a jumper cable polarity error (which can fry the electronic ignition...) should your tractor ever need to be jump started.

Check your local tractor boneyard for a distributor/coil assembly - or check on Ebay.
And if your magneto is still "hot" you can probably sell it for more than what you'll pay for a used distributor, thus dramatically reducing your finished cost.
