It will not kill anything but the tinyest weeds. That's why it can be used on corn or beans. They are tough enough that even when small the hoe won't kill them. They were used in this area to rough up sandy ground so it wouldn't blow. Once it rains and packs the ground down flat, the wind comes up and just like snow in a bizzard the blowing sand will cut the emerging corn or beans right off. But if you get out there fast and get the ground ruffed up a little it will stop blowing.
