The separate pads should not make any difference . The critical dimension in the problem you've been having is the thickness of the disc.
Still, you're running out of adjustment room, which suggests the fingers on the cover may have benefitted from some adjustment while you had it apart.
If it were mine, I'd try it out with all the precautions somebody mentioned last night (like having it pinted in a safe direction, ignition disabled and ready to shut it off it it should keep running -- all ggod advice and very important!) and try hitting the starter with the clutch pedal depressed. If she doesn't move, let off the starter, let up on the clutch pedal and hit the starter again. If she moves then, you're halfway home. If she stays put with the clutch out, and moves with the clutch in, hook your ignition back up and take her for a spin. Safe clearance in front and being ready to shut her down quick are still at the top of your list here -- there's still some oddball things that could be wrong. Just drive her and if she acts normally (no unusual noises, clutch engages and disengages like it should) you should be good to go.
You're at the limit of your adjustment right now but, if it works okay where it is, you should be alright until you've worn the clutch to where it needs further adjustment, at which point you may need to split again and look into the possibilty of adjusting the fingers or some other problem.
