I never knew that them Farmalls stopped at the same spot they started from, that could explain it alright. All them years of starting in the same place would have to be hard on the ring gear. I think I will go with a new starter, I might as well make sure the starter is engaging all the way, no use putting a weak starter on. I was tempted to get the gear replaced on the starter but why spend the money on a gear and labour if something else is wrong with the starter. I would see about that guy on ebay but I am in Canada and from any prices I have seen then shipping ontop I can't save any money. At the local tractor supply company a new starter is $189.00. I need the tractor right now for pushing snow, boy we have been getting a lot of snow lol. Sounds like come spring it will be time to look forward to splitting the tractor and putting a new ring gear on. Might have a question or 2 then. Thanks for everybodys help Terry
