something i did not mention in the previous message is the coil. you need to replace your existing coil with a 12 volt coil WITH INTERNAL RESISTOR OR YOU MUST BUY A RESISTOR TO ADD. i purchased an internal resistor coil for about 25 bucks for a borg warner. there are less expensive ones but i felt that the couple of extra bucks were worth it. i have been told that you can add a resistor to your exsiting coil and it will work but the resistor is 5 to 7 bucks and for the extra 15 dollars you get a new coil with the resistor built in and it makes for a much cleaner appearance. sorry for the omission of this info and i verified on my machine that i had not left anything else out. by the way this is an excellent time to put new wires, plugs and points/condensor. the gap is .20 and the machine will amaze you at how easy it starts up!
