The VR goes in the recycle bin. It has an internal VR in the new Alt. If you use the original coil (no reason not to) it will need a ballast resistor A chevy or chrysler late 60s car will have them (NAPA) it goes between the coil and the ignition switch. Bulbs must be changed in the lights, If it has a lighter it needs to be 12v. Use the same wattage bulbs as were in it, or parts in the light switch will fail. The big wire #10ga from the alternator will go directly to the Amp meter. Reverse the leads on the Amp meter, it is polarity sensitive and needs to have all its leads changed to the opposite side. Attach the #10ga wire to the terminal of the Amp meter that the key and light wire are attached to. Bob M wiring diagrams are good, but may not be specific to the 300U. They are informative look them up in the search for box. JimN
