Hi Ray, In Canada the 464 had a German 4 cyl D206 Diesel engine. The 454 had a 3 cyl D179 German Diesel. Can't comment on gas to Diesel engine swap as I never saw a gas engine in either 454 or 464 always German Diesels in Canada although the Operator's Manual that came with our 454 did mention a Petrol engine option. But the ones sent to the US were shipped in parts and assembled in the US and they had different electrical systems Delco vs Lucas and different front axles and there were some US built gas engines installed in them.
