The M was the replacement for the F-20 and was entered into production July 3, 1939, while the first MD (diesel) was built January 3,1941. The MV(1942) and MDV(1943) were high-clearance versions of the M and MD. According to Guy Fay, author of FarmallLetter Series Tractors, it looks like the M was changed to the Super M in the early 1950's but I'm not exactly sure if this was the end of production of the M. The Hydraulic Lift-All system was available on M's. An attachment for operating remote cylinders was initially advertised in February 1951, it resembled an oil derrick located on the right side of the tractor and mounted on the clutch housing near the Lift-All outlets. Early M Power take-offs used positive shifting but was soon modified due to early life failures. I highly recommend Guy Fays book, I learned alot researching your question. Good Luck.
