My father owns a IH 666, and it has a rather strange serial number. Normally, I don't have a problem placing dates and such, but this is a bit of a poser. The full number on the plate is:
F2450146U010530
There are NO spacings in between the numbers and letters, and the stampings are clear and legible. I'm assuming the numbers after the F are the serial, except there are too many: 666's should only have 5 digits, which could mean the number after the U, except IT starts with 0.
Am I making this harder than it is and reading too much into it? Anybody able to decipher what all the numbers and letters mean? Help?
