As for the wobble joint - you need something to allow movement or else ALL of the bearings in the front bolster need to be pretty tight. Putting pressure on the torque motor or pulling on it is sure to cause breakage somewhere down the line.
I know Dad said he broke the casting on his M one time when he had a bale on the loader and cranked it over hard...
