Very interesting. Maybe someone from California can shed some light on this. I have observed M Farmalls pulling wagons in the vegetable fields out there, and I was under the assumption that those Ms surely were equipped with the low, low first gear, but after reading the specs outlined above, those Ms had to be equipped with something else because of the super slow rate at which they were moving. To clarify, the Ms were being operated at wide open throttle pulling wagons through the field while several workers were harvesting broccoli by hand and tossing the bundles into the wagon, in fact, the tractors were moving slow enough that the driver got off and helped.
