The genny on my SH has never worked since I bought the tractor. I have rewired the entire tractor and replaced the main charging components including the VR. I troubleshot down to the genny and finally tonight I pulled the genny and opened it up. I have a broken brush spring and I suspect the broken piece found its way to the field windings and took it out. Now I have two problems. There is no tag on the genny, and I cant seem to find a supplier for Delco Remy generator parts. Rebuilding this genny is not outside the realm of my expertise. I would prefer rebuilding this genny so I know I have a DEPENDABLE unit. Can anyone tell me where I would find parts to repair this? (Remanufactured gennys are pricy) It is 6 volt and I prefer to keep it that way. Thanks!
