It sounds like a broken tooth on the sector gear. I have the same problem with my 350 Utility. I just purchased this tractor and it had other issues that were easily fixed, them I discovered the steering problem. Mine is power steering, I think the part is the same for manual or power. Used parts are out there but pricey.
Someone posted on here that they make an aftermarket complete power steering unit for these tractors, again pricey.
I am going to try to build up a new tooth by welding.
