Are you sure that you want to do that? I thought about doing that a few years ago but, instead, I bolted the tread on and I'm glad I did that. That was on my early 27 D JD. After looking at it a while, I didn't like the way it sat. The rear end was too low. I found a guy who makes the original old style lugs and I bought a set. After I installed them, I made road bands. It looks a lot nicer that way.
