Nope, using a 6 volt charger just get the polarity correct, + to + and - to - from charger to battery. I dont like to use the high rapid charge settings unless necessary i.e a good long slowwwwwwwwww low amp rate charge versus high amps for a short time

Have the vent caps removed and good ventilation, make sure electrolyte is at least above the plates, dont let her overcharge n boil over, make the last connection somewhere OTHER THEN the top of battery where the explosive gas may be present i.e. if the battery is grounded to the tractor frame (well DUH unless you removed the ground cable) make the battery charger connection somewhere away from the battery top ESPECIALLY when removing it cuz thats when the gasses are gonna be hanging around the most.
