560 rear end

I have a 560, and I had to pull the PTO out and before I reinstalled it I found a bearing cage in the bottom of the transmission housing. The final drives are ok, the stub shafts are ok. The cage is small and I can hear balls clicking in the differental, But after looking at the IT Manual I can't find where any ball bearing are being used. I find it hard to beleive that, that noise is suppose to be there.
