Owned a 656 hydrostat for 20 plus years. Worked ground (disk and harrow) with it the same as any gear tractor and never had a problem. For many years hauled a two row potato harvest, again no problems. Keep the transmission filters changed and the hydraulic oil up to safe range and they will last a long time.
