C-123 Rod Interchange

I have an I-240 with a C-123 (65001-up) engine. The No. 1 rod bearing was almost not there. Although I don't think it had anything to do with the failure, the rod was a No. 30926DB and the rest were the correct No. 30926DF. Also the crankshaft is a Super C No. 356308 instead of the I-240 No. 368711.
It is obvious that the square 'knob' on the bearing cap of the 30926DB is much smaller than that on the 30926DF.
I have a full set of 30926DD rods I plan on using unless someone can tell me why I can't. Appreciate any Comments,
