When Liftalls get into the prime of life (working well, but many hours)the release of the lever seems to be jerky under high load. Two solutions come to mind but are not tested. One easy, one hard. EASY: stiffen up the rod controlling the lever. The rod flexes enough to allow springing in the length of the rod and this seems to be a marginal way to be delicate in control the lever. It is ugly, but a test of the idea might be to use a Vicegrip and "clamp" a 1/2" diameter rod near the lever end of the regular control rod and use that to "parallel" the normal rod to see if better control results from a stiffer rod. HARD: within the Liftall there is a spool valve the lip on the spool that closes off the return of fluid to the resevoir could be modified with a Dremel grinder on one edge to allow valve movement to open a smaller channel as it begins to relieve pressure. Unless you are pretty sure of what you are doing with spool valves/hydraulics, this might be a bad idea. (consulting a good older hydraulic expert to assist might be good as well) JimN
