Thompson: Man, you said a mouthful o' truth. My Super H ran great the day I bought it but ran like - well, lets just say, "not so good" the day I finally got it home. I rebuilt the carb and cleaned the gas tank by removing it and pouring 5 gal. of carb cleaner into it and letting it soak for 5 days, then draining/straining it back into its container (that stuff is expensive!)and flushing the tank with water and letting it sit in the sun to bake itself dry. I also cleaned the fuel bowl and shut-off valve assembly. Then, I sort of lost interest in the tractor - and perhaps got a little discouraged - meaning the tractor sat for over a month before I touched it again. Yesterday, I got inspired and went to town on it, reinstalled the tank, carb, replaced the governor linkage (somebody had spliced in a third world nation engineered foot throttle), a better sawtooth governor/throttle control and fired it up. Oh, man! It ran like an "Eldorado Cadillac with the spare tire on the back". I did not even need to adjust the carb from the initial settings. It runs like a swiss watch and is a strong little booger. I drove it down the road today about 4 miles. Like you said: Don't get discouraged. Try to do something on it every week. Great advice. mike durhan
