Good morning. I have been sifting through the archives to research my hydraulic pump whine problem and came across a few interesting posts. I am going to drain the reservoir a little and see if I can clean out the bypass behind the allen screw on the right hand side of the hydraulic assembly.
I changed the hydraulic fluid and noticed after working everything (tractor and hydraulics) I am a little lower on hy-tran fluid, when I got the tractor it was 1/2 full. If the oil is leaking through the pump where does it end up? I am smoking a lot, more-so at idle rpms. Will the hy-tran get sucked in and burn? It isn"t leaking out anywhere that I can see. Someone posted a part number for the seal that is available at Napa so getting it to change out shouldn"t be a problem.
