The field supply wire can be attached to the same brush that connects to the Large screw "A" terminal. This will give the field full bat Voltage when needed. and is the way 2 brush units are made. Eliminate the third brush. Then connect the field F terminal to the Field term on the regulator. Then connect the the Gen or ARM term on VR to the A terminal on Gen. Then connect the Bat terminal to the load side of the Amp gauge. The L terminal can be left bare, or hooked to the input to the light switch fuse. All wires to the light switch that were to the field should be not used. JimN
