On rare occasion, my 1949 Farmall H engine will stop at a point when it's shut off where it is extremely difficult (almost impossible) to turn over. The starter (a 6 volt starter on a 12 volt system) has LOTS of torque but absolutely will not turn the engine. I can tow the tractor and cannot even get the engine to turn over with the transmission in 4th gear. I dump the clutch and the wheels lock up and skid. Only by putting the tractor in road gear can I enough "leverage" against the engine to make it to turn over. When I do that the engine turns over and starts right up. This "freezing up" only occurs maybe once in 40 or 50 starts. Anyone have any idea what"s taking place? Thanks...Dave
