There are a lot of books on the old McCormick tractors. Tractor Supply has several. Yes, there should be a serial number plate somewhere on it, usually under the gas tank. This plate should also have the model number. Then look at the "Serial Numbers" item in the left hand column. Easiest way would be to post a picture here and let us "X-Perts" help you.
