Thats a great guide to follow JohnT, lot of good information there. Have done everything that has been suggested but kept getting mixed results, charge one time then discharge, overcharge, just nothing constitent. Have ground wires running off of about everything to nice shiney metal under bolts. I decided to try the motor generator test. Did everything step by step, had directions printed out sitting beside me. That went as good as everything else. Big moment comes time to attatch wire from Batt. to Arm post on Gen. Get a puff of smoke, Gen. doesn't move, lol why am I not suprised. Kind of think the old genny might have been the problem all along. Now time to decide take the genny and get it rebuilt or switch to 12 volts. Already have an alternator so the switch seems tempting. Thanks for everybodys help in a long expensive day. Anybody for a beer?? lol
