Andrew: I'll side with Gordon and Gene, if your dealing with old sod Roundup is the way to go. I'll even add a suggestion, give it a good application of N about 10 days before the Roundup.
Old sod has always been hard to plow, it requires an excellent plow with just as excellent coulters, and set perfectly, then even if your a 20 year plowing vetran, you will still utter a few choice 4 letter words. Believe me, been there and done that before the days of Roundup.
Bear in mind I don't completely agree with Gordon. He's out there in the prarrie land of SD, probably 12" to 18" annual rainfall. He needs a taste of the east coast with 36" to 55" of annual rainfall. He'd find out notill works as long as you plow every 5 years.
