You need to clean the points with a piece of 320 wet or dry then use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean them again. You need to clean that mess inside the mag too. PS: If you ever need to pull the mag you need to look at the rotor and see where it is pointing, then make a sketch. Then don't move the engine once the mag is removed. When reinstalling the mag or any mag you turn the rotor to the position you have in your sketch and install the mag. The same applies to a distributor too.
