I have a little more time now so I will address your question more thoughtfully.
There are at least three different IH tach configurations made by Stewart-Warner. But there may be 10-20 different part numbers. The large large number of part #s is due to the location of the PTO line printed on the face and the number of speeds in the transmission.
Some tachs use a 0-2400 rpm dial
Some tachs use a 0-3000 rpm dial
Some tachs (gas start diesel and 9 series gas engines) run backwards.
The Cub uses the 0-2400 calibration. It has three speed bands on the upper half of the dial. You should be able to use any IH tach that is calibrated for 0-2400 and has the 0 point on the right side. Let me know of you need a picture.
