noticed in the last couple years when looking at new equipment specs that hydraulic system fill capacities are going down. it's insane in a way, since you now have a 50 gpm capable machine that only holds 8 gallons! not like the old 06-56 series where 20-40-or more gallons barely hit the add mark! they must be utilizing coolers moreso than we're used to, and internal lube pumps. it's a little easier financially on those new operators to actually change the oil with such a small quantity. how many of us are guilty or know someone that's guilty of just changing the filter? amazing the older stuff took such abuse. karl f ran outta 685 topics for the evening/wee hours of the morning ;)
