The seats on the fenders originated in Europe where a tractor is often the family car or at least standard mode of transportation. We have a couple of Euro tractors in the collection at the I&I mueseum with a seat on each fender. And speaking of buddy seats. Nearly all of the new combines have buddy seats. That's because with all the GPS/GIS and monitoring equipment it takes one person to drive and another to operate all of the equipment. Or if your cynical it gives the mechanic a place to ride while you wait for the next brealdown on your $200,000 machine. John
