It is a 12-volt system, always was. Two six-volt batteries in series is original, two 12's in paralell will work as well. All bulbs will need to be 12-volt units.
Positions-
1- off 2- dim road lights. Your two headlights should be on dim. Rear light should be on red. The factory rear lamp has a special bulb with a red coating on the back. It has a small white bulb at the very rear of the assembly that shines though the coating to make the lamp glow red. 3- bright road lights. Same as above exept headlights will be on bright. 4- work lights. headlights and taillight all on bright white.
The lamp assemblies might have to come from a salvage yard if you want factory original ones. The bulbs are all avalible at Case-IH.
